Bring back Cadbury Fuse!
In a recent newspaper article, The Sunday Telegraph credited Chocablog with helping to bring Cadbury Wispa back, but in actual fact we had nothing to do with it. We only mentioned Wispa after Cadbury had announced it was coming back.
But the news of Cadbury bringing back one Chocolate institution led to several comments about the disappearance of Cadbury Fuse. Now call me slow, but I hadn’t even realised it had gone until Chocablog readers mentioned it, and I have to say I’m shocked.
I loved the crispy, chewy fruitiness of Fuse and it was one of my favourite regular purchases. And now I want it back.
But this isn’t just about Fuse and Wispa – Cadbury have a bigger problem here, and that’s in inexorable rise of the Dairy Milk superbrand.
Now don’t get me wrong, I loved the Dairy Milk with Creme Egg bar – partly because a Creme Egg in a bar was such a ridiculously fun idea. But the Dairy Milk brand is killing off some of Britain’s best loved chocolate brands, not to mention stifling development of new ones. If it can’t be squeezed into a small square of Dairy Milk, it seems Cadbury just aren’t interested.

What’s a ‘fuse’ – we have pretty well everything Cadbury in Australia, but not that one.
Well we don’t have it any more either. :)
It was a chewy, crispy, fruity bar with raisins, caramel, rice crispies, nuts, fudge, etc. All “fused” together.

Fuse was my favourite bar as a kid. Its chunky, full of chocolates, has fruit and nuts, and those little rice crispy bits. There simply isn’t anything else to fit in one bar, yet it works so well! If they came back, I would literally buy them by the dozen.
I know there are big issues with child obesity but, by cutting out such successful products, Cadbury’s are ignoring their adult market in the process.
I agree with the whole dairy milk scheme that was mentioned in Doms original post, however the creme egg bar just isnt nice, and detracts from the whole point of what makes creme eggs delicious and fun. Also, I agree with Sian. Chocolate covered pretzels were indeed the nuts. But for now…

The Fuse bar was my all time favourite cadbury chocolate bar. Many a time did I grab one for breakfast on the way to work – maybe not very healthy (although there was fruit in it!) but more interesting than say a tracker bar, I have just emailed them to ask if it will be coming back!

I am poorly and the only thing that will make me better is CADBURYS FUSE, That’s what my doc told me! There is nothing else out there like the Fuse. it’s demise has left a big hole and I miss it dreadfully. it was a proper sized bar and tasted great. I think we need a campaign to bring it back!

fuses were the best on my way home from school i used to buy them all the time in year 6 up until year 10 so i ate them from age of 12 till 15 god my tastebuds so want them back!!!!

I’ve been raving about where have all the Fuse bars gone since they disappeared. My one daughter hates nuts, yet she loved Fuse!
C’mopn Cadbury’s – if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it. Fuse was the best of the Cadbury range (Closely followed by any Wispa!).

Nothing will ever beat a Fuse! I have to settle for Picnics, and whilst they’re an amicable replacement, they’re just not the same!
