Chocolate Cellar Tiffin Biscuits

Chocolate Cellar Tiffin Biscuits

This little bag of goodies turned up on my doorstep the other day with no details and no explanation. Needless to say, I felt it my duty to give them a good home, and with a little bit of research, I found out they are tiffin with biscuits, cranberries and raisins, in milk chocolate and topped with white chocolate courtesy of The Chocolate Cellar

Tiffin is apparently an unbaked cake-like concoction made from crushed biscuits, fruit and chocolate, which describes this perfectly.

The texture is more like a cookie than a cake though. It’s soft, crunchy, chewy, fruity and chocolatey in just the right proportions – something that makes eating one of these little 2cm cubes far, far too easy to do. I put them in my mouth and they just seem to disappear. They’re simply delicious.

With everything going on in those little squares, it’s quite hard to make out distinct flavours. Occasionally, you’ll get a lovely fruity hit from the cranberries and raisins, but the overall taste and texture is more like that of a simple soft cookie. Perhaps the only slight disappointment here is that it doesn’t taste particularly chocolatey.

Having been hit (literally) by The Chocolate Cellar’s daring chilli chocolates in the past, it came as a surprise that they made something so… subtle. And to be honest, this is much more my thing. Highly recommended.
