I was hoping someone could help me to find this product that I bought about 10 years ago. I believe I read about this originally in a magazine somewhere about some incredibly rich hot chocolate that is sold in glass jars and is solid at room temperature because of the high content of fat and cocoa butter. I ordered it, and it was the best stuff I've ever drank in my life. Incredibly expensive, but I remember that it came in glass jars, and as you heated it, it became liquid, and you could drink it. One jar was probably meant to be more than one serving, but piggy me, I downed it in one sitting. Anyways, can you help me find it?? I've been looking to get it again for years now.

Hi there, Yep me and my husband have been numerous times, though we don;t get chance to visit very often nowadays, may I just add for other readers, it's a fantastic day out for children, as not only can you give them (at your disrection) chocolate treats that cost you nothing, but they can learn and see how chocolate is made, educating them in a great art, and there is a ride for younger children that they will find exciting and fun.

The samples they give are full sized bars so be sure to take a bag for your goodies to carry home in, and they also have the best shop where you can buy cheap oddments and broken bits quite cheaply as well as full size retail bars, they offer a full extensive range of their chocolate, and the smell is just to die for, so even if you're like me and lactose intolerant so sadly can;t eat the goodies you can wander around in the pure essence of the smell of the chocolate, though be sure to have eaten before you go in, otherwise the wonderous smell of the melting and tempered chocolate will have your tummy grumbling all the way around lol.

It's a wonderful day out and offers free samples to boot, what more can you ask for =)

awww sadly I think they discontined making them, I remember exactly the box you mean as I purchased the same box for my mother who used to love plain chocolates and was a fan of Terry's of York.

But since Terry's and Rowntree's was taken over by Nestle foods I think they discontinued them, there are some items that still retain the "logo" name of Terry's due to their success and high revenue sales, but technically the terry's name no longer exsists, which is a shame as they produced some of the most exciting and exotic ranges in the chocolate industry.

Myabe you could write to Nestle as I'm sure they will have the old recipes and details of all the ranges that Terry's and Rowntree's of York used to create and sell, they may be able to at least provide you with the names of the chocolates and you never know if they know theirs still interest they may even get out the old recipe book and recreate them.

Good Luck and I hope you get your chocolates you thoroughly enjoyed all those years ago. =D

Hiya all I'm new to the site but can I just say I love discussing chocolate and the smell of it as much as anyone even though I am unable to consume it's naughty goodness.

hehehe here's a free idea for you Dom, as I fully understand where youre coming from for not wishing to invite strangers into your home.

How about during the summer (I know our weather is extremely unpredictable)but how about a chocolate picnic (lol excuse the pun, my husband just pointed that out to me), but you could have chocolate sandwiches, chocolate cakes, hot chocolate or cold chocolate drinks, and of course the good ole choocy bars.

Wish I could join you but sadly I'm lactose intolerant so cannot enjoy this sumptous, velvety, yummy, sensous, wonderful, indulgent food. I can sadly only consume the 70%+ cocoa dark type, or the false, traitorous, decieving, disguised soya type, which really isn't chocolate at all. And the dark type is not so wonderful in large quantities, it's really one of those treats that can be endured in small quantities at any one time.

feel free to use if you wish and happy scientific observations ;P
